First DIY Project: Save the Dates
Option 2.2 - 'In the grass'
Here's what we finally went with (sorry the pic is a little blurry; should have saved it as a larger image size, I guess).
We took one of our engagement pics, popped it into Photoshop, and went to town, adding text. Pretty simple really (though it took a while to tweak them and we had a couple of other pictures we played with (thanks for all the great feedback from my lovely pals on the April '10 Knotties board)! Then we had them printed them on photo paper with a matte finish. Shown in actual size (4 x 5 inches).
I bought some kraft paper envelopes from paperandmore.com. The photos will be inserted in the envelope inside a "folder" made out of two perforated postcards. I had a box of them lying around that I never used, so they worked out perfectly. The postcards came four to a sheet, so in order to make a fold, I separated them in pairs, using the perforation as the bend. They might still snap apart later, but the purpose is to protect the photo in transit, so it really doesn't matter. I'll post a pic later so you can see what I mean (I admit it's a little hard to explain).
Our wedding colors are shades of green and blue, and ivy is going to play prominently in floral decor.

The Runners Up...
My Knottie pals really liked these two as well, but there seemed to be an overwhelming preference for the one above (Option #2).
